Blessing Of The Animals
In the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Patrick's Church offered a Blessing of the Animals to members of the surrounding community. Among the animals that were blessed was dog from the K-9 Unit of the Madison Heights Police Department and Maya, a Leader Dog for the Blind.
Gun Buyback
Members of St. Patrick's assisted with the gun buyback day at St. David's Episcopal Church. 90 guns were turned in by people who were not comfortable with having the guns in their homes. The guns were immediately cut up by powerful saws.. The gun parts were then sent to the art table where they were made into sculptures, jewelry, and plaques.
Faith And Blue
St. Patrick's showed our appreciation for the Madison Heights Police and Fire Departments by giving each staff member hand made prayer squares and by providing toiletry items, socks, small snacks, t-shirts and blankets for their Hope Not Handcuffs endeavors.
Dresses Without Borders
The latest package of dresses were for girls in Equador. These dresses, made by members of St. Patrick’s, protect girls from human predators, because they show that someone cares for them and is watching out for them.

Handmade Scarves
Before we filled the pews with people,we displayed the scarves our members have sewn, knitted, and donated to give to people in need by way of Open Hands Food Pantry and Cathedral Crafters Christmas Warmth Outreach.
Ashes To Go
People in the surrounding community who are unable to attend their own church's Ash Wednesday services because of work, appointments, and other responsibilities, were able to pull into St. Patrick's parking lot for a prayer and ashes on this sacred day.

The Christmas English High Tea
This is an annual opportunity for women to gather for tea, finger sandwiches, and cookies - as well as a way to be served by the men of the parish!
Crossroads Soup Kitchen
Members of St. Patrick's, neighbors and friends prepared and served meals for over 300 hungry people at Crossroads Soup Kitchen.
Room Boxes for Refugees
With household items donated by members of St. Patrick's, we were able to provide "Room Boxes" for a Syrian refugee family who have just begun their new life in one of our neighboring communities.
Holy Baptism
On the day of Bishop Gibbs' visit to St. Patrick's, we welcomed baby Dean into the Household of Christ.

Blessing of the Animals
Near the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, church members and neighbors brought their pets to St. Patrick's. Songs were sung and prayers were said. Then the animals and the humans who care for them were blessed.
The Blessing of a Lifelong Covenant

Woman of the Year Award
Inge Krato (on the right) was presented with this award by the Madison Heights Women's Club for her years of community service. Volunteering at the City Library, in local schools, at St. Patrick's Church, with Women's Club events, and other charitable endeavors such as sewing dresses for little girls in third world countries and knitting scarves for homeless persons, were among her many selfless acts of kindness acknowledged at the Madison Heights Community Roundtable awards ceremony.

Vacation bible camp: inspiring stories, entertaining songs and dancing, fun projects, tasty snacks, and fun outside activities.
Community Prayer GatheringChristians from the Churches of Madison Heights and Muslims from neighboring faith communities gathered in unity to pray together. We were all blessed by this experience.
